I've always admired this salon. Beside the glam & simplicity of it carile is an amazing hairstylist. I just went a few weeks ago for the first time & she did an amazing job. I absolutely LOVED the new color she did. She gave me a full foil, did a glazed & an olpalex treatment. Her skills are impressive & I am SO happy I found her by just stopping in for a consultation while out shopping the area. Pleased 100 % and looking forward to my next visit.
Just before my first trim/shape up, Carol left to live and work on the Cape. Nina could not (or wouldn't try) to recut it (after 10 weeks) like Carol did. Now it's TOO SHORT and I had to go to another salon to fix the color. For all the Hype and the $105 for a trim, I don't get it. I won't return, and I'll let everyone know about it.
Carol cut my hair at the End of July. It was OK. She said i should come back to get great color to go with it. I said, I like auburn hair color. Did she make it auburn? No, she made it purple (red/violet). She said 'take a few weeks and get used to it." Lucky for me everyone loved the cut and the color, but I didn't want the purple hair.
I recently moved back to MA from Brooklyn. In Brooklyn I had the best hairdresser ever. Since moving home I have tried salons in Boston, Newton and Wellesley. All were beautiful and professional but none got me the cut I was looking for. I went to Carole on a whim. I knew the farmers market and Bread Co were in the building so I took a chance and booked a cut one Sat morning. Well, I finally found my stylist. This place is beautiful and relaxed. Carole listened closely to what I wanted and gave me an amazing cut. Now I drive 45 min to see her every time i need a haircut.
I had a horrible experience from when I first walked the guy in the front made me feel like I didn't belong. The whole reason I made an appointment is because I read online that they know how to do curly hair but as soon as I sat in the chair the woman who was suppose to do it looked at like it was a foreign concept. But still I gave the benefit of the doubt but she seemed more interested in changing my hair color and texture. I Agreed to a color tint, so she washed and then colored then cut my ends then I waited for her to style my hair or atleast make it look good. But it looked HORRIBLE she basically put my hair in the dryer and let my curls expand and frizz. Then said she was done and still had the nerve to look at my hair and say when I staighten it myself I can come back and get my cut evened out then charged over 100 dollars. I was so embarrassed I paid and as soon as I left I threw my hair in a bun. It was the worst experience, so if you have real curly hair don't go here unless you want to feel bad about your hair and be robbed!
Salon Nina Rafaela is a true gem hidden in the city of Worcester! They have high quality service and amenities. This is the prettiest salon I've ever seen- floating sinks/ rotating hair dryers. All the staff members have quality training and most of all EXPERIENCE. I've been seeing Carole since she gave me a color correction this winter and saved my head from looking like a Zebra. She took my hair from perfectly proportioned stripes to naturally looking silvery blonde with highlights! She then gave me an excellent moisturizing treatment that helped seal my broken bleached ends that were damaged by previous hairdressers. Since then I have been closer to achieving my desired length. Thanks to Carole my hair is healthy long and blond! Definitely worth a try!
