I have never been to Big Y but have been searching high and low (California to Vermont) for a particular kind of sausage and called here to see if they may stock it. Kevin in the meat department went so far above and beyond to try to help me find what I was looking for! Superior customer service is an understatement! He took my number down, did some research and got right back to me with all the answers I could have hoped for. I'm tempted to drive from Cape Cod to Worcester just to shake his hand. Best buffalo chicken tenders...and now they have a wing bar!!!! You can order a fresh batch or get a slice a pizza instead. They have good pizza as well. They are on the pricey end but the quality of their food makes up for it. Don't forget to try the chocolate croissant and award winning fresh blueberry muffin.
This supermarket used to be a reasonable place to shop. Don't get me wrong they still have a variety of food but gone is the monthly sales of buy one get two free deals. Now I only go there as a quick stop if I am in the area but I hardly ever purchase anything because I think they are over priced on their merchandise. It is wheelchair accessible
Big Y is our preferred grocery store. It has good selection for what we buy and good prices. I'd give five stars if they had a better selection of natural bread with few unnecessary ingredients.
It's location is convenient if you live in the area. They offer fresh cooked foods including sushi. There are often weekly sales like any supermarket, but they have very high prices compared to their competition. $6.45 for a half gallon of Friendlys ice cream is too much, even though they usually are b1g2 free. Compared to Shaws, Price chopper and Stop and shop, they are a bit expensive. Regardless of the prices, the store is clean and almost all the products are neat on the shelves. The employees are nice, friendly and helpful.
