It seems the entire agency is this way, they delay and make mistakes and have broken processes, and blame them on you, assuming you know as much as every employee there combined, regarding rules. In retrospect I think I'd rather beg, or have stayed on the dole, since apparently I'm not allowed off until kicked off, according to two separate visits.
nothing but attitude from the worker, he was rude from the moment i sat down. Unhelpful! People like him are the reason people leave and have nothing nice to say about government offices. if you can not be nice at 9:00 am when the office opens it may be time to find a new profession.
Fast service, if you're not going to an office in the building, dont park, they will tow your car ;(
If you think deadbeats are draining social security, it's not, it's the employees and systems incompetence.
I went here for an appt, and was completely misled by the staff. As others have said, the wait is long but the woman we met with congenial, so we left there feeling pleasantly surprised. However, even though she encouraged me to contact her with any further questions, she was insanely rude every time I reached out to her. At first I thought it was just one off communication, but it was like talking to a completely different person from thereon out.
I'm honestly not sure what the point of reviewing necessary evils like this nightmare building could even be. I doubt anyone thinks they'll be having a quick & pleasant experience at the SSA, but I'll tell you this: I'll NEVER forget the name of the rep I was forced to speak with. She's so unabashedly unprofessional that I wouldn't be surprised if I experienced reprisal for reporting her; here or via SSA.
The wait here is worse than the rmv which is funny for me to say because even if you want to get another SSN, you have to come up here to apply for one and this place is boring too as you have to wait a long time. However, the associate I was with was a nice man and he was able to help us.
This place is a joke. If you have a disability, and inquire how long it will be, because you need to get to work, they laugh their asses off, and spread that hilarious joke amongst colleagues. A two minute visit is a day long event. You cannot mail to this office even though they say to, it's a black hole where the critical mail important for one's well being and good-standing status with the administration is not received or logged, then they lie, when the mail was addressed straight to their desk. I can't even get into how incompetent and lazy the employees are with regards to benefits and their own jobs. The physical security team (contracted or otherwise) thinks they're gods gift to security. I was sent around the metal detector and not wanded, or pat down, even with a pacemaker, so they missed the knife I genuinely forgot was clipped to the OUTSIDE of my pocket from cutting boxes at work, it was quite obvious I was not hiding anything. Then, when sitting with an agent one finally noticed, went all "ex-high school bully" on me flexing his authority to confiscate it and punish me, for HIS failure to do his job.
