If you can find one of the seasoned professionals in the home depot you may have a positive shopping experience, mine wasn't. $1500 of trex decking cut to wrong lengths and delivered wrong twice! Now we have to cut it ourselves. I felt they at least should have picked it up, recut to the correct stated lengths as outlined in our written contract and re-delivered. Plus it took numerous phone calls to find out about our order before the first delivery. Very untrained and uncaring staff, not all but a lot.
I ended up just taking the stuff out of my cart and leaving the store because I have never been faced with such rude people before. I ended up driving to Auburn even though it's 20 minutes instead of 5...but the people there were so friendly and helpful with my questions.
My wife and I went to the Flooring department to look at different styles and to price a Pergo or Pergo-competitor floor for a large room. We located a person in the department and I told him I had a couple questions about the different models and brands offered. He began to answer my first question, and just then the phone rang. He picked it up and walked away...to talk to a POTENTIAL customer for at least ten minutes...ignoring my wife and I -- real customers -- completely. It was incredibly poor form IMHO. I really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it went on and on. We eventually just walked away.
I like this store. Convenient location, not too big, fairly easy to find things. Downsides are small and very busy parking area as well as extraordinarily slow check out whether with a cashier or doing it yourself.
Worst Home Depot I've ever been to. I went to ask questions about flooring and the person, Daniel who I later found out was the department supervisor was extremely unhelpful and complained that everyone called out and he was going on vacation...I went to the service desk to ask if there was someone more helpful and the girl called over there, she nodded her head a few times, said a few "uh huhs" then hung up and said to me, "I'm sorry I can't help you. You can just go somewhere else. if you don't want to deal with him"
Jessica was the most helpful person in the history of people. All three of my online orders were ready when I arrived. Jessica answered all of my questions. Unless you are the type of person who favors the use of child soldiers in the Congo, this Home Depot is the store for you.
I've been in retail for 17 years and if I had a people that rude work in my store, they would not be there for much longer.
